Bockman Native of Aurora III Participating in First Derby DerbyHAROLD HAROLD G BOCKMAN owner and trainer of Happy Go Lucky native and res ¬ ident of Aurora Illinois has never had a starter in the Kentucky Derby until this year In 1950 however he nominated Im Don who failed to get to the post in the big race A former optical and jewelry shop proprietor in Aurora Bockman came into the sport as a partner of John Oros also of the Illinois city They owned and raced several useful horses successfully before Bockman took over the training of the thoroughbreds belonging to him and his wife saddling his first winner Vero Lumen in 1946 at Oaklawn Park Bockman believes that Happy Go Lucky Is the best horse he ever handled but one of his favorites is Little Millie a mare of some class he cam ¬ paigned some years ago
