Three Cranwood Winners To Meet in Menow Purse PurseNightingale Nightingale Safe Arrival and Fleeting Rock to Match Speed SpeedBy By W A CRUSE CRUSEStaff Staff Correspondent CorrespondentCRANWOOD CRANWOOD PARK Warrensville Heights Ohio May 10 Mondays nine race card ushers in the second full week of racing conducted by the Cleveland Race ¬ ways Inc and the program lives up to the precedent which has been set during the first seven days of the 25day meeting The card is well varied with the distances rang ¬ ing from fivefurlong sprints to mile and a sixteenth affairs and the caliber of those to compete also runs the gamut gamutSpotlighting Spotlighting the affair is a sixfurlong dash for threeyearolds and older horses under the allowance conditions and there are eight named including an entry The purse for the event which bears the title of The Menow was increased from 1000 to 1200 by racing secretary and handicap per Fred Burton and that enticement brought out a field that is extremely diffi ¬ cult to separate in quest of a logical can ¬ didate didateThree Three of those who accepted the issue J Q Wynkoops Nightingale the A and H Stables Safe Arrival and A W Messer smiths Fleeting Rook were victorious in their initial outings at the meeting meetingNightingale Nightingale and jockey Richard Bell eked out a nose verdict over J Mohrs Beats in the seventh and feature affair on May 5 Time for the six and oneTialf furlongs was 115 over a dry but deep race track and the Nordlicht filly was extended to the utmost Safe Arrival was three and one half lengths better than J Levines Bos ¬ ton Hero in his race and while going over a slow race strip turned six and onehalf furlongs in 123 The Eight Thirty geld ¬ ing was much the best all the way while taking the top at the start and going away at the end endFleeting Fleeting Rock may be a bit ambitiously placed but he has scored while competing against 2500 and 2000 platers However at the end of five furlongs F Fischers Sea Weather was a good three and threequar ¬ ters lengths in his wake The strip was classified as good that day and he was clocked in 101 Either of the trio could wind up the winner and it is difficult to ascertain who will be the more strongly supported supportedRounding Rounding out the field are Dorchester Farms Connie Rab which finished a rather dull fifth in the Inaugural J H Carter and D Doherty entry of Egotist and Rus ¬ sell Cave Bodnar Bros Stable Plumelette and J Mohrs Beats
