PGA Entrants Start Playing Qualifying Rounds This Week WeekBy By the United Press PressNearly Nearly 3000 entrants will tee off next week in 36 hole qualifying rounds for 104 berths in the annual PGA championship Professional Golfers Association offices announced today todayThe The tournament will be played June 18 24 at the Big Spring Golf 31ub Louisville Kentucky KentuckyTwentythree Twentythree sections will hold their trials on Monday One section each will qualify Wednesday Thursday and Friday and four were slated for Saturday SaturdayOf Of the 3032 PGA members 2855 were eligible to play in the qualifying rounds Each section gets one qualifying berth for each 28 members The Metropolitan New York section will get eight places and Illinois and Philadelphia will each get seven sevenAt At least 45 players will be exempt from qualifying including all former champions members of the 1951 Ryder Cup team quarter finalists in the tourney last year the PGA members in the top 30 money winners in 1951 the host professional and PGA senior champion
