RUGGED ODDS, slow to gain best stride, worked his way forward to the stretch, came over slightly on SMOCK at the furlong marker, and after taking command, steadily drew clear. F0URLEAFCL0VER raced SMOCK into defeat to assume a commanding lead when settled for the stretch run, faltered thereafter and was unable to withstand the winner. SMOCK showed good speed from the beginning, was impeded by the winner while tiring during the drive, and was unable to improve her position when placed to pressure. MISS COMEBACK lacked ample racing room during the early running, came out for the drive and finished willingly. HER CHANCE, much used early, had little left. BRAGAS had no mishap. MONEY DOWN was outrun. TOP ATTRACTION quit, as did YASHMAK. SIWAN0Y raced wide. TEXOLA and BARBARAS PET showed nothino. Scratched— 86693 Neo Nina, 108; Rozs Beau, 116; 61959 Beautiful Lass, 111. SELECTIVE held sway to the furlong marker under steady rating, shortened stride inside the stretch and though drifting out during the late stages lasted to prevail over GRACIOUS ONE. The latter was sent into closer contention on the final turn, responded to punishment when set down for the drive and finished fillingly. PATS TONI closed fastest of all and appears ready for a creditable route effort. EFCEE failed to make up appreciable ground. STAR NYMPH drifted out slightly nearing the three-furlong marker and failed to recover. WILDFOWL lacked a rally. JENKINTOWN was unable to obtain the lead and tired. COONAMASSET quit. The latter came to the inside for the drive, reached near even terms with the leader during the stretch run, then appeared to hang in the concluding strides. OUTBIRD moved up boldly nearing the furlong marker, but lacked the necessary rally. BRASSFIELD raced forwardly to the stretch, then flattened under punishment. LEVEL RIPPEY, forced to take up sharply inside the stretch, failed to recover. COOSAWATCHIE tired. ROMALAY lacked speed. YOUR STOCKINGS was never a forward factor. SNOOKSIE was outrun. LIP ROUGE began alertly, then dropped from contention. TRAIL OF GOLD and BUZZY NAVARRO never were formidable. QUEENS REGRET WAS RANK AND UNMANAGEABLE DURING THE POST PARADE AND WAS ORDERED DECLARED. SICKLES SOUND responded readily when shaken and gradually was getting to the top ones. HILARIOUS rushed into contention immediately after the break, drifted out on the near turn and continuing in the middle of the track, faltered when the real test came. BRADLEY, unable to keep up early, passed tiring horses. IMPASSE quit, as did CHIEF FANELLI. EMARDEE retired steadily after flashing brief speed. Overweight— Chief Fanelli, 2 pounds.
