Burns Bull Ford, ridden by Norman Hart, scored a front-running length victory over Bir Ackheim, the odds-on favorite, in the seventh race here today. Orange Fox was third, another neck in arrears. Thje winner was timed in 1:58 for the mile and a furlong over a good track and rewarded his backers .60. Bull Ford gained the lead quickly while saving ground, opened up by two lengths while on the backstretch, skirted the rail while on the final bend and, though tiring in the late stretch, had enough left to hold the favorite safely. Bir Ackeim was a victim of a poorly judged ride in this race. While in second position on the backstretch, jockey Willie Downs had the tightest possible hold on the animal and never permitted him to run until the horses were midway around the final turn and it was then too late. The only horse in the race that made up any appreciable ground on the winner was Orange Fox, ridden by Freddy Kratz. Bee Golly, ridden by Eddie Plesa, was the latters third winner of the day. He scored a neck decision in the sixth race over Vermont Son. Bee Golly was the third winning favorite of the afternoon and paid .40, running the sprint in :53%. S. A. Coopers homebred Abbe Fun. who is by Abbe Pierre — Meadow Fun, scored a decisive five-length tally in the third race here this afternoon, breaking her maiden after several near misses in the past. She was ridden by the veteran Stanley Austin and as a team they covered the six and one-half furlongs in 1:22. Gentle Gal was second and Papa Coon showed in the eight-horse affair. The winner was an odds-on favorite and paid .80. Flag Maud, who has been in three different barns in the past 10 days, came through with a two-length victory in the second race and paid 5.20 in breaking her maiden.
