Jockey Floyd Green on Two Ascot Park Winners Goes Into Lead Spot for Riding Honors, One Above Owen Headley By J. R. BATTY Staff Correspondent ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, May 9. — Jockey Floyd Green rode his second winner of the afternoon when piloting Bubblestream to victory in the fourth race on the card here today. Green established I himself as leading rider of the meeting by going one ahead of Owen Headley. These I two have been alterating for the top spot i the past couple weeks. Bubblestream, owned by Cremona Farms, was the third choice from four races to succeed. Coming to the end of seven furlongs with a length to spare over Pepper Corn, Bubblestream kept his 1955 record | intact, having won his previous time out at I this track. Backed to favoritism by the I estimated gathering of 5,000. Bubblestream returned .80 after negotiating seven furlongs over a good strip in 1:28%. Graldu carried Green to a driving triumph in the third race prevailing by a neck over Biforate with Seabright completing the finish order. Graldu gained credit for I her second victory from three tries at this I meeting. Trephine, public choice and winner of i the first race, and Sun Bud a 4-to-l chance victor in the second race, compiled a 8.40 Daily Double pay-off. Showers over the week end dampened the track but the racing strip promises to be ! fast again for Tuesdays card. Limit fields of 10 starters exist in most of the events lined up for tomorrow. The best offering on the program is the seventh race in which seven seasoned sprinters accepted the conditions drafted by racing secretary Charley Henry. An allowance race and titled the Buckeye, this band of sprinters will vie at six I and one-half furlongs for a purse of ,600. Ziggity, who won opening day here and later had the purse taken away by the stewards, is to be opposed by Blue Ember, Silver Spot, Remind Me, Say, and Court Shannon. Ziggity was sidelined for a few weeks after his opening day tally. He appeared a trifle short in a dash then came back and finished second to Mor-Snoozey, indicating he is about ready to earn a purse again. I Silver Spot turned in a game try when I third to Old Limber and might improve at the added yardage asked in this encounter. , Another who might gain a following is J Court Shannon, who makes his debut after arriving from Gulfstream Park. Morning workouts have been sparkling.
