It does not matter what sector of the country is concerned it is a positive fact that the handicap ranks throughout the nation are on the slim side the number of horses capable of performing in what should be the cream of the racing crop pitifully small It is not a local situation just in New England it is preva ¬ lent all over Which is why New England at least has something to be glad about following the re ¬ turn and a successful one at that Tuesday of Mclvor Pricketts Motor Line The fouryearold son quarters at his owners South Carolina farm and had little trouble disposing of his seven some time and piled a consistent record last year as a threeyearold In 17 starts he won six and finished second a like number of times asking no quarter and giving none One of his best efforts was a fourth in the Roamer Handicap at Jamaica in which he was blocked on the turn The powerful son of Bimelech is a nominee for the 50000 Lincoln Special here on closing day and off his first effort of the year promises to be a strong factor in the race regardless of who comes here from New York New Jersey or elsewhere Jimmy Rankin the former jockey who is now training for Prickett did a nice job in bringing Motor Line back to action in such fine fettle The bay colt looked like a million and ran like it If he continues to hold his form Motor Line should prove a tough customer the rest of the season and will take a lot of beating in the handicap ranks ranksCondamion Condamion Foals On Trust Colt ColtCondamion Condamion an old local favorite racing around here in the colors of Felix
