Irish National Stud Purchases Panaslipper From McGrath Special to Daily Racing Form DUBLIN, Ireland, June 25 Reuters. It was learned authoritatively here today that the Irish National Stud has bought the Irish Derby winner, Panaslipper, from Joseph" McGrath. The purchase price Avas believed to be between 18,000 and 47,000. McGrath refused higher offers from American owners. Panaslipper, a three-year-old colt by Solar Slipper, out of Panatsrin, won the Irish Derby at The Curragh last Wednesday after finishing second to Phil Drake in the over a mile and half English Derby at Epsom in which he was a 100-to-l outsider and led the field at a mile and quarter. He has been trained by S. McGrath at Glen-cairn Stables, County Dublin.
