J. K. L. Ross Boniface, shipped here from Saratoga for the closing day program of the Fort Erie summer meeting-, delivered in convincing style in the Edward W. Maginn Memorial Handicap under gjod riding by jockey Earle Sande. beating Midnight Sun and Kings Champion. The three were the only starters. In spite of the size of the field and the class of the winner a pretty race developed. Midnight Sun went to the front from the start and set a fast pace to the far turn while Sande stood up in his stirrups and kept the Ross color bearer under restraint. After straightening out Midnight Sun began to tire and Boniface, given his head and hard ridden, drew away into a three-length lead passing the finish line. Kings "Champion was never a contender. Marjorie Hynes, R. I. Williams speedy three-year-old daughter of Dick Finnell" Alice Baird, lowered the three-quarter-mile record in winning the Buffalo Enquirer Handicap, the secondary feature of he card. Expertly ridden by Jockey McTnggart, she followed close to the pace set by Carmandale into the stretch and drew away to finish the distance in 1:11, lowering by the mark made by Lsocluires as a four-year-old with 102 pounds up. Marjorie Hynes carried 107 pounds. A tremendous crowd was in attendance to bid the thoraiighTiridlHrtrttoir!ttitysrasonof 1920, nsthere will be no more racing in this vicinity until next year. T. W. Schorrs McGee filly Alberta S. showed marked improvement to win the opening dash, closing a big gap to beat Flying Ford after he looked nil over the winner in the stretch. The Bertie Handicap for two-year-olds bred in Canada fell to Harry Giddings Royal Visitor after n well contested race with Silent West from the stable of Commander Ross. The Pelican Stables American Eagle, paying 0.80 for , accounted for the third race. The finish in this race was of a sensational character, witli the smallest of margins separating the first three horses. Hondo was second and Skeer Face third. CANADIAN DERBY FOR CANADIAN HOHSES. The officials of the Niagara Racing Association announced today that beginning next year the Canadian Derby, an annual feature of the Fort Erie meeting, will be exclusively for Canadian bred liqrses. Jockey J. Morris was granted a license at the Canadian Racing Association stewards meeting, to ride exclusively for R. P. Marshall, owner of the Keystone stable. Jockey J. The horses of Edward Graham were shipped to Havre do Grace last night by trainer J. G. Bussey. Considerable difficulty is being experienced here by horsemen in engaging cars for shipment of their stock to Windsor and to Ottawa, but it is believed by railroad officials that the trouble will be smoothed out in time for the movement of all the horses. Jockey Earl Sande arrived this morning from Saratoga to ride Boniface in the Edward W. Maginn Memorial. Sande will return to Saratoga tonight, but will go from there to Windsor to ride Sir Barton in the Windsor Jockey Club Handicap. The J. K. L.
