The Windsor Jockey Club Handicap, the feature of the opening day of the second meeting at the track across the river, has attracted nominations of superb quality. The field for this 0,000 stake next Saturday will embrace the colors of such well-known owners as Harry Payne Whitney, J. K. L. Boss, Willis S. Kil- . mcr, E. W. Mcorc, C. M. Garrison, J. C. Uallaher, Mrs. C. II. Gilroy, Mrs. James ArUmr, j. k. skin-ker and the Sunnyhnid Stable. Sir Barton, "Commander Ross champion racer, has been asi-igned the iiost of honor in the big feature, the son of Star Shoot being asked to shoulder 134 pounds, seven more than alloted his stable companion Boniface, which is second on the list, followed by Exterminator, with 125 pounds, and Irish Kiss, 120. Harry Payne Whitney, the New York sportsman, is the only owner who has won the stake on more than one occasion, his Nightstick finishing in front in 1911, while Borrow carried the Whitney colors to victory .the year following. Mr. Whitney is expected to send a representaton for the 1920 running of the race, having John P. Grier, Upset, Dr. Clark, Wildair and Damask, eligible. The second stake of the meeting, the Belle Meade Plate, will be run, on Montlay, August 23.
