CAPT. .HERSHLER rushed into the lead and set a fast early pace, then held on gamely when challenged and outstayed AFTERNOON in the final drive. The latter was a forward contender for the entire race, made a game effort in the stretch, but tired in the closing strides. MLLE. VIVIAN was hard ridden all the way and .ran a good race. GLORIA FRANCE came extremely wide when entering the homestretch, but finished fast. PILGRIM ran well arid was under pressure throughout. GRAYSSIAW was crowded back in the stretch. GOMEZ was a forward contender throughout and. When moving up gamely in the homestretch, was forced wide by HILDUR, then closed up fast when, clear and passed KNOBBIE. The latter met with repeated interference, but closed a big gap. in the last quarter and outstayed PAHASKA in the final drive. PAHASKA was a prominent contender and saved ground when entering the homestretch, but tired in the closing strides. HILDUR showed the most early speed, but ran out in the homestretch and tired badly. LAST ROSE ran well. BRIGADIER GENERAL quit badly in the last quarter. IWIN lacked early speed, but closed up rapidly in the last quarter into a fast going third. BLUE WRACK ran well. UNDER FIRE was hard ridden all the way. CAMOUFLEUR quit in the last quarter.
