PUBLIC RACING COSTS IN ENGLAND An extreme sample of what it costs to go a-racing in England these days is the display of prices about the recent "Dukes" riieeting at Goodwood. The course is on the estate of the Duke of Richmond, southwest from London some 125 miles, and south sonic ten miles froiii the country town "of Chichester. The meeting is an exclusive and fashionable one of four days duration and common folks are not especially welcome, though the racing is first class on old-fashioned lines with the Stewards and Goodwood Cup races as its features. This year it ran from July 27 to July 30.
