EARL OF JERSEY FAMOUS TURFMAN 1 George Child Villiers, the sixth Earl of Jersey, was one of the most famous sportsmen of Ills time. He owned the wonderful mare Cobweb, whicli won for him the One Thousand Guineas and the Oaks, and at the stud became the dam of Bay MIddleton nnd Clementina winner of the One Thousand. Lord Jersey won the Derby three times, with the aid of MIddleton, Mameluke and Bay Middle ton.
