SOLARIO WINS GOLD CUP Scores Notable Triumph in One of Royal Ascots Most Famous Races. SPECIAL OARPKGPAM. PONPO.Y. Fngland, June 17.— Sir John Putherfords Solario defeated the Comte de Chaviagnacs Priori II. by three lengths in the Gold Cup at Ascot this afternoon. Pons Asinorium was third. Solario was a strong favorite at 4 to 0. Priori II. was at 7 to 1 and Pons Asinorium at 100 to 8. Seven horses started in the race. Sir Lewis Pichardsons Waterval won the Granville Stakes from Golden Fairy, with Silveretta in third place. The winner was at 100 to S. Waterval scored by a length and a half. Warden of the Marshes defeated Pellamina and Colorado in the Pous Memorial Stakes. The winner was at 4 to 1. Jell.imina at 11 to 4, and Colorado favorite at 4 to 5. Childs rode Warden of the Marshes. J. S. Autsens Camden triumphed over Senarus and afendosa in the Churchill Stakes. Camden was at 10 to 1. Senarus was the choice at !• to 4. Artist Glow, a 4 to 1 shot, beat the favorite Prompt in the Pihblesdale Stakes. A. K. Macombers The Sirdar was third. Artist Glows winning margin was half a length. Pamon, a son of Stefan the Great, won the .New Stakes from Sickle and Adams Apple. . A
