FOREIGN TURF NOTES ~T i . . $ LONDON, England. The second acceptances for the Derby, Oaks and St. Leger have been published. Of the 329 original nominations to the Derby, 89 still remain in. In the Oaks forfeit has been declared for 227, leaving 62 still eligible. The St. Leger, which attracted an entry of 314. has 111 left in. There will be a final acceptance for each of these races on the Tuesday in the week before running. Captain Loewenstein, the Belgian millionaire who recently purchased Easter Hero from Mr. Frank Barbour in an attempt to win the Grand National, has bought the two steeplechasers, The Coyote and Rosoglio, from Mr. Victor Emmanuel, the American sportsman. Both horses will be trained by Captain Whit-aker at St. Giles. An idea may be had of the muddy condition of the tracks across the water by the Newbury Spring Cup run April 15. This was over the straight mile course at Newbury and Vantage Belle, a four-year-old filly ran a great race to win in 1 :46. Training operations have been retarded to a great extent all over England by the soft going.
