* | At Aurora One Best Bet — DUNBEATH — In the Sixth Race the t ° p, a all b, ft to t at a ° si m l 0 u J in D. r a c d do 7 s h ] S to jj i ° v s * ■ i i * ■ r c t f r * c ; A typical Monday offering is on tap at Exposition Tark oval today, with six claiming events and one maiden race for two-year-olds making up the card. Large fields are to the fore in the various numbers and, generally speaking, they are of the poorer grade that will be seen in action in of the races. There is nothing resembling a feature race, but the fifth brings out the best field of the day. This is a mile dash and figures to go Jack Horgan. Four of the numbers are a distance o- less than a mile, while there are two one mila and seventy yards dashes offered. The latter are to be run as the sixth and seventh events. tiO FOIN— -J01L D.— INVICTUS. A cheap band of platers is to race over the three-quarters distance in the opener with CJO FOIN our selection to win. He turned in a good effort in his first start and only lost a nose decision to Quin Chin for the winners share of the purse. Todtiys distance should be just right for him, for his last start the five and a half furlongs distance was a trifle short for him. JOHN has been turning in some fast workouts and, on those moves, he has to be given a chance to finish up with the leaders. IN-VICTUS lines up as third best. The others not call for much. AMERICAN THUNDER— SETHS ROMANCE— QUX CHIX. The second race should s-se AMERICAN THUNDER proving the winner. The filly showed she is in best form, her first start here being a good second to Senator Seth. Her light impost today should help her in turning in a winning effort. SETHS ROMANCE was the one to finish in back of Senator Seth and AMERICAN THUNDER in their meeting the other day. We look for her be the one to force AMERICAN THUNDER again today, for she is getting weight off over that last effort. QUIN CHIX, which was returned a winner in her first start here, figures to be .among the placed horses when the finish is reached. FERSETH— SI r PORTER— SUN ROCK. The third offering calls for another sprint over the five and one-half furlong distance, with sixteen horses from the plater division making up the field. The winner here may turn up in FERSETH. In his last race he set the paca for the entire distance, only to lohc a head decision to .Silent Lillian. That race should have lightened him up for todays race and, should he get out in front, we doubt if any of this field will beat him to the wire. SUPPORTER may be able to fill the two-hole should he show any improvement over his last race. SEN ROCK, which raced with much success over the Havana track the past winter, figures to be a strong contender for some part of the purse. LITTLE JACKIE— FRENCH LANE— DAISY MINT. LITTLE JACKIE appears best in the two-year-old maiden race which will be decided as the fourth race on the program. He has been landing close up in his recent starts and, against this company, should be able to graduate. FRENCH LAXE raced well enough in his first start at this track to give him the call for the place end of the purse. DAISY MIXT, though she ran unplaced the other day, seems able to hold the short end of the purse safe from the rest of the field, should she get away with the leaders. MARY FRANCES may give the others a tussle to keep her out of the picture. JACK HORGAN— HEED— TANIST. We are looking for JACK HORGAX to prove the winner of the fifth race, for which, eight starters have been entered. He is due for a winning effort and this looks like a good spot for him to turn the trick. HEED figures as the danger here for, with a good win to his credit in his first start here, he looms as a strong contender. TAX 1ST may be the one to account for the show money. The gelding may have to race at his best however, for PLAIN DEALER and GENERAL CLINTON figure to give him an argument all the way. DUNBEATH— DARK ANGEL— MY YALET. With a second and a third to his credit in three starts here, DUNBEATH looms as the most likely winner of the sixth number. He should have benefitted greatly from those races last week and, with his favorable impost today, should prove the easiest winner on the card. DARK ANGEL, a recent arrival from Lexington, fared well enough there to warrant the belief that she may prove the most dangerous contender in this field. She is on the improve and figures as a real danger here. MY VALET, if up to his best form, may prove troublesome. He failed badly in his only start this year but, if he races as he did last year, is bound to have a word to say as to the ultimate result. NOSE DIVE— GRIEGO— MODO. The Jones Stock Farm Stable should furnish the winner of the concluding eent in NOSE DIVE. The veteran racer showed he has lost none of his speed when he finished second to By Gosh in his last start. He is to pack considerable weight today but, if he races to his best style, should be able to win nevertheless. GRIEGO has been coming along in good style and should give a creditable account of himself in this contest. He is well suited to the distance and he carries a favorable impost. MODO seemed to be nearing winning form when he left Tijuana and, if he has retained that same form, may be heard from. The others do not call for much with the possible exception of BIRD BEHAVE.
