BKOWN THISTLE, outrun for the first half mile, came to the outside while finishing stoutly and managed to get up in the last strides. CAMPFIUE MAID went into a brief lead early, was rated along, saved a lot of ground entering the home stretch, but was weakly ridden near the finish after moving Into a winning lead. LENNY, following the pacemaker closely from the start, responded to urging in the final drive and held JOHNNY AGEE safe. The latter, on the outside throughout, finished gamely under poor riding. SARATOGA MAJE had good speed for fi ve-eighths and tired. CALM showed an even effort. ROUT STEP rand well. RUSSET finished fast. MY BOY FRIEND pulled up lame. BALAI DOR sprinted into a good lead, lost some ground, but held on gamely at the end. REDDY FOX, outrun early, came to the outside and finished fast. DUNKIRK, messed nhout from the start, was taken up several times in the last three-eighths. SHREW ran well for a half mile. BRUSHAWAY wheeled when the start came and was left. KING CHARLES, quick to get into his stride, sprinted into a good lead while under restraint, was reserved until reaching the stretch turn, then was shaken up and held on gamely to stall off VERNON. The latter, in close quarters in the early stages while racing on the inside, secured racing room along the inner rail in the stretch and outfinished S11UP. The latter made a threatening effort leaving the back stretch, but tired when the final drive earner AFTON finished resolutely. FASCISTE was backing away when the start came and was away very slowly. THESTYLIS was permitted to open up a long lead in the first three-quarters, but tired when the final drive came. TROUTLET showed a good race and held on well.
