EBUFOandD TAKES FEATURE TORONTO, Ont., June 11. — A card made up of six claiming races and one allowance affair was the entertainment offered the large crowd that journeyed out to Long Branch to witness the program. The fifth race, a sprint of three-quarters, attracted the best field of the afternoon and, inciden tally, was the one that caused the most excitement when C. L. Whitings Helen Handsel acted badly on her way to the post, throwing her rider, H. Little, several times and refusing to be led over to the barrier, making it necessary to start the field without her. The winner turned up in H. Haymakers Ebuford, which, racing in improved form over his previous start, was rated back of the early pace, took command when straightened out for the run through the stretch and was home a length in advance of Fair Thorn. The latter, slow to settle into her best stride, finished fast, but could not menace the winner. The favorite, Lieutenant II., was unable to keep up in the early stages, saved ground turning for homo, but was always held safe.
