T LATONIA TURF NOTES $ — . . — _ LATONIA. Ky., June 19. Joe Sheran of 701 Eastern Avenue, Joliet, 111., is anxious to hear from his brother Thomas, who is believed to be in the employ of a racing stable. The missing party is required to assist in settling the estate of hi* brother Frank, who died four months ago. The two-year-old Big Stiff, entered for the second race, was excused on report of trainer Al Woodman that the youngster bucked while being "opened up" for the race this morning. The horse Thistle Major came out of his last race in such an ailing condition that it may be impossible to save him for racing purposes. Jockey Nick Huff is nursing an injury to his nose, received whm the two-year-old Honey Locust raised her head suddenly and struck him in the face after he had mounted her in the paddock Tuesday.
