GOODRICH GAINS RAPIDLY Closes In on Russell for Place Next to Redding Among American Jockeys. E. Goodrich, riding at Wheeling, made an appreciable gain on Redding and Russell, the two leading American riders, by piloting thirteen winners in the last two weeks. This unusually large number for two weeks riding brought his total of victories up to sixty-one, only two behind the record of K. Russell, who remained in second place. Russell and Goodrich, at the end of two weeks, had ridden in practically the same, number- of races. Redding, the leader, did not ride during that time. He still held a margin of ten winners over Russell. R. Workman made the best record for the time among the prominent jockeys of the East, riding eleven, which gave him ie high average of .27 per cent. J. Mulrooney, riding at Tanforan, had the mounts on twelve winners during the week. Records of the thirty leaders follow : Jockey. Jits. 1st. 2nd. 3rd. Unp. PC.L2W.
