NEWTON, outrun in the early stages but remaining in nearest pursuit of FALLACIOUS, moved up to the latter steadily in the last three-eighths, withstood, a long drive and in a game finish, got up in the final strides. FALLACIOUS sprinted into an easy lead, aved much ground, but tired fast in the last quarter. BERBER, lacking early speed, finished gamely in the last half mile. DANGER SIGNAL tired after a game effort. ROCKDOR went well. ROCKSLIDE was never able to get into contention. BAKED ALASKA quit badly. IMBROS moved into the lead when reaching ihe far turn, but was unable to cope with the winner. MAINSHEET, well placed, finished gamely. BOYISH BOB was unable to hold command when put to punishment. FOREST LORE made up some ground. COTTAGE BOY was outrun. CAPE FEAR and IMMORTAL quit badly. Scratched 10952Fire Opal, 105. Overweight Mainsheet, 41 pounds.
