MY DANDY IN FAST WORKOUT : H Reichert Bros. Star Preparing for Fairmount Inaugural Loses Eye at Agua Caliente. COLLINSVILLE, 111., May 2. My Dandy, the crack racer of the Reichert Brothers, which lost the sight of his right eye in a stable accident when first shipped to California last January, turned in an exceptionally fine work here this morning and gives every evidence of being ready for the Fair-mount Inaugural, over three-quarters, on opening day, May 10. The son of Porte Dra-peau galloped seven-eighths in 1 :29 and was hard held. In discussing the eye accident W. C. Reichert said it occurred before any of his starts at Agua Caliente. He was out of the money in two of the races following, but won two and lowered track records, and raced splendidly in the Agua Caliente Handicap, setting the pace up to the stretch. Brown Wisdom, stablemate of My Dandy, turned in five-eighths in 1 :32 and was not being pushed at any stage. Another horse to show well and a sure starter in the Inaugural is Flag Bearer, the fleet brother of My Dandy, who is being trained by J. L. Wilson. The R. C. Stables Longus, candidate for the Kentucky and Fairmount Derbys, worked one mile and an eighth this morning in 1 :56, the mile in 1:43, and at no part of the route was he pressed. His connections are enthusiastic about the colt at this time and believe they have an excellent chance to win the. Kentucky Derby. Arrangements are being made here for the use of the private van of Augustus Busch, to van his racer to Churchill Downs for the race of May 17. Paul Lycan, who has charge of the two Hawaiian two-year-olds of W. A. Carter one a full brother to Uluniu has a good looking three-year-old which is going well in the morning. He is Sen Ruben, never having raced as a three-year-old, but accounting for three victories as a two-year-old over the Fairmount track last year. Sen Ruben won one race at the Fairmount spring meeting and two during the fall meeting. The stables of W. R. Cox, Parkview Stable. H. T. Fleming, B. B. Rice, R. Pollard and Joseph Leiter were arrivals today. The Meadowbrook Stable and Brown Shasta Farm Stable were arrivals today from California. Jockey George Cimerak, under contract to W- J. Potter, is able to do 103 pounds without any trouble and should give the boys here an argument for riding honors. He will not go to Aurora, but remain here to gallop the Potter horses, which include Genuine and Bo-caratone. Up to noon on the opening day of secretary Reeders office, two hundred and fifty horses had been registered, which represented thirty-two stables on the grounds. Skibo, former Harry Payne Whitney racer, has been nominated by Ed. McCuan for the Fairmount Derby, which is to be run May 24. Skibo is a performer which shows an inclination to come from behind and may prove dangerous for some of the Derby contenders. Eddie Morgan, an apprentice, will do most of the riding for Frankie Seremba in the light weight races. Morton, a Morvich youngster, will run under the colors of Dew and Denham, local meat packers, at the Fairmount meeting. He won one race at Beulah Park.
