Hickman intends to return to Kentucky for the Latonia season. In addition to seventeen of the H. M. Woolf horses, D. E. Stewart will campaign the three-year-old filly Magic Spell, owned by J. N. Camden, at Washington Park. Stewart sent Woolf s Best Man, candidate for the Washington Park Handicap, to be run Monday, to the Homewood track Tuesday night and the sprinter shipped well. Jack Lowenstein, with the A. Sabaih. Morris Vehon. F. If. Grabner and his own horses, another getting away for the opening of the Chicago season Friday night. J. B. Respess Grand Champion came out of the Bashford Manor Stakes thoroughly bucked and was blistered this morning. His shins were sore when he went to the post for that stake yesterday. A. A. Baronis Calome, which went amiss here ten days ago. was sent to the Haugh-ton Farm to be turned out for an indefinite period. Baroni shipped tonight for Washington Park with his stable, aside from Upright, in fine condition. Upright ran a slight temperature for several days, but was normal yesterday and today. Apprentice Ralph West, one of the leading riders at Agua Caliente when he suffered a leg fracture on February 27, will resume riding Monday at Washington Park. He has been galloping horses for the past four weeks and will scale at ninety-eight pounds. West is under engagement to the Baroni stable. Earl Pool resumed riding after ten days absence occasioned by an injury received while guiding Betty Derr in the Kentucky Oaks. The stables trained by Willie Hoag. W. G. Yanke and C. B. Reed were shipped to Lincoln Fields. Earl Pool goes from here to Washington Park, where he will continue to freelance. Trainer Tommy Taylor and Jay Lewis of the E. L. Swikard and Etowah Stables have completed preparations for the transfer of their charges to Washington Park Sunday. The Phil Reuter and Miss Blanche Watson horses got away last night for the Home-wood track. e
