FORM BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION AURORA, 111., May 22.— The Horsemens Benevolent Association came into being last night when an enthusiastic meeting was held at Aurora. The aim of the organization is primarily to defray the funeral expenses of any horseman, jockey, groom or others immediately connected with the thoroughbred that may die in poverty. The fund was started by yearly subscriptions of 0 each, from the twenty-five attending last nights meeting, and it is planned to hold a jockey contest at Washington Park which, no doubt, will add considerable more to the boffers. Harry Morrissey, who was mainly instrumental in forming the organization, was voted president at last nights meeting, and William Owens, superintendent of the jockeys quarters, will act as secretary.
