Knight CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 22.— Following closely in the wake of the Preakness and the Kentucky Derby is the seventh running of the Ohio State Derby, 2,000 added, which is to be run over the mile and an eighth Bainbridge course Saturday afternoon. Fifteen high class three-year-old3 are named to start. Included are three Derby winners and four were competitors in the Kentucky Derby last Saturday at Churchill Downs. The three Derby winners are Knebelkamp and Morris Spanish Play, winner of the Louisiana Derby; Mrs. John Hay Whitneys Lightning Bolt, winner of the Florida, and J. N. Croftons Up, winner of the Agua Caliente Derby. The four which started in the Kentucky Derby were Spanish Play, Boys Howdy, Insco and The Mongol. The first-mentioned was fourth in the big Churchill Downs classic, closing a big gap with courage and good speed. Boys Howdy and Insco were fifth and sixth, respectively, in the Kentucky Derby, each racing creditably. Dr. J. Fred Adams is sending what he considers a strong eastern candidate in Hold Hard, which was pointed for the Preakness, but went amiss and has just rounded into form. Another eastern competitor is the Alton Stables A La Carte, which performed most creditably in his recent engagements. J. E. Madden is represented by The Mongol and Conscience. Cleveland and its environs are taking on a holiday aspect. Special trains are being run from Ohio towns and many of the fans are expected over from Chicago, Pittsburgh, Detroit. Buffalo and other points.
