BAFFLING STAR worked his way up on the inside in the stretch and finished strongly but in close quarters. CLEORA was a factor until midway of the stretch. LOWER FIVE finished fairlv well. NETIE IEBBLES closed fast on the outside when straightened out in the stretch and, overhauling the leaders in the last sixteenth, got up in the closing strides. LITTLE TOOTS, close up throughout, tool: the lead after turning for home and held on well. FIG LEAF improved her position and was going fairly well at the end. PURLIE saved ground in the stretch and finished fast. LNLSUAL showed good speed to the stretch, but tired rapidly in the last eighth, as did PATSY J.
