Lon Jones, who is assisting in the training of the Harned Brothers horses, loaded his four and seven of the Harned Brothers horses late in the afternoon for Lincoln Fields. Others to make up the three-car special were those of B. O. Hickman and the ten John Goode is training for the Brae-1 delbane Stable. Lair and Parrish and M. G. Goode. Before completing arrangements for th« Chicago shipment, Asa Harned sent Borealis, Anita Ormont and Lord Concord to Mrs. George J. Longs Bashford Manor Farm here. Those he took to Chicago were Brown Flash, Typhoon, Betty Ann, Snowcloud, Eva Ormont, Gnome Girl and Fair Billows. Jockey C. Edwards, late in the employ of W. D. Covington, became affiliated with the Harned Brothers shipment and expects to do most of the riding for Harned Brothers and Lon Jones during the Washington Park meeting. Both stables return to Kentucky for the Latonia meeting. A four-car shipment that left for Latonia this morning included the horses of R. T. Runnels, W. G. Yanke, the Brown Hotel Stable and two of R. J. Wilkerson. Cliff Porter has arranged to send Lady Sweep and six others to Latonia Wednesday, while W. D. Covington expects to get away the first of next week. Headed by the American Derby candidate Matadi, the Oakland Farm Stable left for Lincoln Fields tonight. Twelve others com-, prised the shipment. Owner Weant did not name the son of Durbar II. for the Latonia Derby and expects to race him, as well as the others, throughout the Illinois season. AFTER LATONIA PRIZE. Theodore E. Mueller, owner of Pittsburgher, Cayuga, Machete, Rain Cloud and others of the Shady Brook Farm Stable, stated today that in the event that the son of In Memoriam and Wistaria came out of his American Derby engagement in good condition he would be shipped to Latonia for the mile and a half race that features the opening days program June 27. "I am satisfied that Pittsburgher is a good colt, and believe that further racing will justify that opinion," was the comment of the member of the state racing commission before departing for Pittsburgh. F. P. Letellier, who has ten horses at the Downs that will remain here until a week before the opening at Latonia, visited his brood mares and foals in Franklin County Sunday. He was well pleased v ith the looks of a suckling by Wise Counsellor and also another by Bostonian. Mince Pie is being prepared for the Latonia Oaks. The daughter of Thunderer failed to round into her best form during the Lexington and Churchill Downs meetings, but owner Letellier believes he can have her ready for the filly attraction at the Milldale course. Jack Weaver intends remaining at the Downs for ten days before shipping the eight horses he has for W. E. Srnith to Latonia. Weaver expects to have Wise Talk ready for his Cincinnati Trophy engagement. The Wise Counsellor colt bucked in his last race, but is now rounding to form. R. P. "Dick" Brooks has little hope of saving Mrs. R. P. Brooks Loretta B. for racing. The filly broke down in her last race and Brooks intends sending her to western Kentucky to be .urned out, to later become a matron. The horses Brooks will take to Latonia are Jolly Dolle and Ben Erskine. PLANS SHORT REST. George V. Barnes, who has Whisk Arrow and three others at the Downs, will give his charges a short rest before shipping them c 1 to Latonia. Albert Houtchin supervised the dismantling of the fourteen stall Bahr gate and the machine this morning was loaded for shipment to Latonia. According to present plans, starter William Hamilton and his assistants will be at the Covington track several days prior to the opening for schooling. More than 100 horses, unable to come to Louisville from Lexington due to scarcity of stabling accommodations, were shipped to Latonia during the last three days, according to assistant track superintendent Albert Houtchin. Houtchin stated that the four-stall Bahr gate, which was used for school* ing purposes at Douglas Park and aided in the starting of the Bashford Manor Stakes, was shipped to Washington Park, where it will be held in emergency in the event it is necessary to start more than twelve horses in the American Derby or one of the many stakes. Joe Umensetter, who has Little Colonel for Burley De Bassett and two others for his own account, plans to van his horses to Latonia the latter part of the week. L. C. Veatch shipped the four horses of the Seranata Farm Stable to Lincoln Fields. The consignment consisted of Scarlet Brigade, Louise Wilson, Annette B. and Buds Vivian. F. C. McAtees Low Gear, George McCrann, Lady Witt, Gibbys Choice, Dorita and June Bush, which he races in partnership with J. H. Hardwick, went in the same car.
