NEALS ANKLE FRACTURED HOMEWOOD, 111., May 26.— Apprentice Evan Neal suffered a fracture of the left ankle in his fall from Southland Pal in the final race of the Churchill Downs meeting, according to word received by Wayne Lewis, trainer of the W. F. Axton stable. Neals contract employer. X-ray photographs revealed the break and Neal will be confined in a Louisville hospital for some weeks.
