JACK HIGH TO BE RETIRED NEW YORK, N. Y., May 30.— Jack High will be retired. The gallant campaigner came out of his last race in a bad way and trainer Joyner states that it was a recurrence of his old trouble. Jack High has been an unfortunate horse. He suffered an injury in the stall gate at Aqueduct in his three-year-old year, wheh kept him away for some time. He displayed racing courage and gameness in his recent race against Sunvir. Jockey McAtee confided to trainer Joyner that he tired suddenly a quarter mile after the start, and suddenly changed stride. He practically finished the race on three legs. When he came back he was sore, and after an examination trainer Joyner held out little hope that he would be able to race again.
