LEONINE swerved suddenly after the start, recovered quickly and, moving up fast, finished gamely. MAKALU improved his position steadily and finished fast. STIMULATOR dropped back after the first eighth and came again. SENADO overcame early interference and showed early speed. DINNERTIME raced green. Won easily ; second and third driving. i INDIGO jumped well and was rated along under restraint and, moving up when called upon, drew away . in the final half mile. IVORY II., under early restraint, made up ground steadily on the last turn and outfinished ARGONAUT. The latter, a factor throughout, was taken back under-restraint, came again, but tired in the final drive. LE BEY showed good speed to the first turn of the field, but tired badly 1 and struck several of his fences. CAWVOGE had no excuses. BEELZEBUB lost his rider at the tenth obstacle when racing well. GRATTAN forced his way between the leaders in the stretch, bumped COLOSSAL and held on courageously. The latter, under restraint and on the outside, finished fastest of all. POLYDORUS bolted to the outside at the start, but saved ground on the turns and finished fast. JUDGE SCHILLING, close up early, tired under pressure. Prior lost his stirrup irons on BLIND LANE and could not do her justice. Scratched— 59135 Little America, 95; 55419 Tambour, 98. JAMESTOWN, close up from the start, followed the fast early pace under restraint on the inside, went to the outside of MORSTONE in the stretch and drew away, winning with speed to spare. LADDER, a factor from the start, moved up fast on the stretch turn and finished with a rush to outlast SURF BOARD. The latter, outrun to the far turn, moved up fast when called upon and finished well. MORSTONE showed early speed, raced COMMUTER into defeat, but quit badly after seven-eighths. SUN MEADOW tired when called upon. COMMUTER showed speed for three-quarters, but quit badly at the end. Scratched— 59219 My Broom, 118; 59535 Polydorus, 118. CQCOrT FIFTH RACE— 5-8 Mile.
