ALL HAD, WINS HANDICAP o Gregory Colorbearer Defeats Good Band at Bainbridge. » Race Heads Decoration Day Card at Cleveland Course— Tempus Repeats for Third Straight Victory. I CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 30.— Mrs. C. Gregorys All Hail, well ridden by jockey F. Horn, was winner of the Cleveland News Handicap, feature attraction of the Decoration Day program at Bainbridge Park this afternoon. Druggist carried L. T. Sand-rocks colors into second place, and L. B. Carbones Sunny Morn was third. Patricia Marian led the others home, which included Click, Crash and the favorite, Come On. Click and Crash raced as a team to the turn for home, with Crushed Stone and Sunny Morn in close pursuit. At this point there was a general closing up of the rear horses, among them All Hail. A furlong out All Hail overhauled Sunny Morn and drew clear. During the final stages he was hard pressed, however, to retain a neck advantage over the fast finishing Druggist, which came from last place on the stretch turn. Sunny Morn was a handy third as Click and Crash both tired badly during the stretch racing after setting a terrific early place. Come On was the choice but was never a factor. It was a real holiday throng which turned out to witness the sport. The accommoda- . tions of the plant were taxed to capacity, over twelve thousand being present. Rain [ threatened throughout the day. When the . horses were parading for the fifth race a shower began and it developed into a real 1 downpour. The track was at its best until this time and the rain only served to lay the dust nicely. An excellent card was pro- . vided. The Blue Star Stables Malolo found a soft spot in the fourth race, an allowance affair over six furlongs, which served as i the secondary feature and attracted some i good sprinters. Jockey Cavens sent Malolo along about his business today, opened up a . commanding lead after making the far turn l and he was under restraint in the last few strides. Etonardo was given a head decision i over La Belotte and Everytime for second, , but the latter finished fastest of all on the i outside. Captain J. S. displayed a return to his best ; form when he accounted for the opening dash. Skillfully ridden by jockey F. Horn, , he saved ground by working his way up on i the inside after leaving the back stretch and he raced over the leaders rather handily through the stretch. Mary Cobb, a forward ; factor all the way, raced Noon Play into i defeat and held Mote safe at the end. Mote i was well up throughout, but was hard I pressed at the end to save third from the ; fast finishing Bright Comet. Bocaratone, , the favorite, could never get up. After following the leaders to the stretch head, where she made a wide turn, Ed Mc-j Cuans Germaine Chauvelot raced over her f opponents on the outside when given her r head in the stretch, in the second race, and I outlasted Netie Pebbles rather handily. . i i . l i , i ; , i ; i i I ; , f r I . Netie Pebbles and Kind Words contested the leadership closely lapped until well in-i side the final furlong post. Kind Words was showing slightly in front, but tired in the final test, though retaining a safe lead over the others for third, When Tempus carried the Carleton stables colors to victory over Noahs Pride in the third, he covered the five furlongs in :58 and established a new track record. Tempus was closely pressed by Fred Almy and Com-: mandman to the stretch head, and was forced to a hard drive to stall off Noahs Pride during the final stages. Noahs Pride closed a wide gap after a slow beginning, and showed a sparkling performance. Fred Almy was doing his best to save third from the fast finishing Epidemic. Commandman tired rapidly through the final furlong. Redcliffe attempted to make a runaway affair of the sixth race, leading by a big margin until midway in the stretch. During the last furlong he tired and bore out, finish-t ing in the center of the track. This per-- mitted Letalone to move up next to the inner rail and he was awarded the decision over Redcliffe. Fair Beth steadily improved her .position and outgamed Jack Berry for the minor award.
