t i . 1 1 i I WOODBINE PARK NOTES I € — $ TORONTO, Ont., May 30. Jockey E. Legere, who is under contract to the Seagram Stable, will be unable to ride for that establishment until June 15. Legere was suspended during the Maryland Jockey Club meeting for his foul riding while astride Solace for his employers. With the establishment of the proper owners of the horses in charge of trainer J. Backhus, permission has been given to start these horses on the tracks ruled over by the Canadian Racing Association. Trainer Backhus has in his charge the racers owned by W. D. Buck and H. Phillips. V. A. OConnor will superintend the shipment of the G. W. OConnor racers that are scheduled to depart for the Connaught Park meeting. Those in charge of V. A. OConnor are Highborn. Eleusagon, Buck-rill, Satans Pet and Little Imp. Mrs. E. Glasscos good home-bred, Mr. Gaiety, was withdrawn from fulfilling his engagement in the William Hendrie Memorial Handicap when it was discovered that the racers leg filled following his morning trial on Saturday. Entries for the Kings Birthday Handicap, inaugural feature for the opening day at Long Branch, will close with racing secretary W. Norvell on Monday. It was also announced that entries will be taken solely at the racing secretarys office at Long Branch during the course of the meeting. Frank Gilpin, with a public stable, and E. Doumani are the latest to add their bands to the shipment of thoroughbreds that are destined for Connaught Park. Stake blanks for the autumn meeting of the Westchester Racing Association at Belmont Park, N. Y., were distributed among the horsemen that have jumpers in their care. Stake blanks for the 5,000 added Grand National Steeplechase, the Brook Steeplechase with ,000 added, and the Broad Hollow Steeplechase, which are the featured jumping events at the autumn term of the i Westchester Racing Association at Belmont Park were distributed among the horsemen by F.
