PADDOCK SALE AT BELMONT Pennant Lass Brings Top Price of ,000 at Dispersal of Horses in Training. NEW YORK, N. Y., May 30.— A sale of race horses in training, the property of P. T. Chinn, Joseph F. Patterson, the Brook-meade Stable and others, was held in the paddock before the running of the first race under the auspices of the Fasig-Tipton Company. The lots offered attracted spirited bidding, but no sensational prices were realized. The crowd was well up to the average, and the general opinion was that the material offered brought good prices. The top price realized of the day was offered for Pennant Lass. This miss was offered by Arthur Wentzel and she was sold to the B. B. Stable for ,000. F. J. Navin paid ,000 for Thatched Roof, which was offered by P. T. Chinn. The majority of the horses purchased will be shipped to other points for racing.
