I BELMONT PARK TURF NOTES ? $ $ NEW YORK, N. Y., May 30. T. H. McCreery has taken over Mountain Elk to train for the Barry Vail stable in addition to the horses he campaigns for the Howe stable and J. F. Byers. The others of the Barry Vail stable are in the care of John Loftus, who brought them back from England. Trainer Kay Spence wired from Chicago that he would arrive at Belmont Park on Monday with Gallant Knight, a starter in the Suburban. Eddie Watters and Mrs. K. E. Hitt have severed relations and the jockey will ride freelance hereafter. The services of G. Ellis were obtained on Sun Meadow in the Withers Stakes at Belmont Saturday. Recede, winner of the closing race Friday, was claimed from Louis Struble by Mrs. Oliver Curtis for his entered price of ,000. Anthony Pelleteri was an arrival from Chicago and will remain for a few days. E. K. Thornton received word that T. J. Pendergast would arrive from Kansas City on Monday. He will leave later for an extended European holiday accompanied by his family.
