. [ . 1 . VETOES RACING MEASURE TALLAHASSEE, Fla., May 30.— Governor Carlton of Florida, vetoed the racing bill, recently passed by the legislature. The measure, which would have legalized racing in this state with pari-mutuel betting if each county voted favorably for the sport in referendum, passed the lower house by a vote of 55 to 38, and the count in the upper house was 20 to 15. A two-thirds majority vote is required to pass the bill over the governors veto. Pro- ponents of the bill were unable to say what further action will be taken.
