Bradleys three-year-old filly Baba Kenny, one of the best of her age raced last season, worked a mile in 1:42 handily as part of her training for her meeting with the recent winner, Tambour, in the Coach- , ing Club American Oaks, which will be decided next Wednesday, June 10, and will gross approximately 0,000. F. D. Schuyler, treasurer of the Florida Jockey Club, St. Johns Park, arrived for a brief racing session. Mr. and Mrs. John Hertz arrived from Chicago for several days racing. They expressed satisfaction over the condition of ; their horses, and complimented trainer Knapp upon his success. The G. A. Cochran establishment has turned over the two-year-old Caerleon to George H. Strate. He was vanned over from the Wheatley Stable at Aqueduct to Belmont Park yesterday. Strate stated that he did not know at the time whether the horse . would be placed in training. Mrs. P. A. Clark, assisted by several ladies who are members of the New York Womens League for Animals, will pass the hat at Belmont Park Sunday for the benefit of the work horses of the city. This is for the ! regular summer establishment of watering ! stations for work in the city and it is a charity of vast importance. This year Mrs. Clark has promised that men who are unemployed will be chosen to take care of the various stations that are opened and she has high hopes of a considerable fund from the patrons of racing. J. Simon Healy returned from a trip to Ottawa. He will return to the Canadian capital before that meeting closes. Tom Campbell, veteran New Orleans sportsman, and member of the Louisiana Jockey Club, was a spectator. James Frazer, popular club house com- f missioner, is gravely ilf at his home suffering from pneumonia contracted at the course last week. Jockey R. Leishman was suspended for three days by the stewards for pulling over in front of Straying in the fourth race. W. C. Goodloe, well known Kentucky breeder, was a visitor of the day. Judge Frank Bryan called the attention of owners and trainers to the fact that the . entries for stakes to be run at Brookline, under the auspices of the Eastern Horse Hunt Club, close today. The entries for Raceland close on Saturday, June 20.
