Robert West, owner of the Kenton Farm Stable as well as the breeding establishment at Kenton Farm, was notified that the names asked for his two-year-olds were granted. The son of Thunderer and Col-onada was christened Libretto; Kenton Boy the son of Thunderer and Kenton Girl; Storm Center is a daughter of Thunderer and Lather and also a sister to Downpour; the daughter of Thunderer and Soloist is called Lydia Ann; the colt by Damrosch and Surrender is Deever, and the filly by Damrosch — Florsain is named Melody Queen. Melody Queen is eligible for the Clipsetta Stakes, and unless she goes amiss between now and the time for her engagement she will be a certain starter, according to W. Overton, who is training the horses. W. B. Pohlman has the two horses he campaigned at New Orleans quartered at Latonia. He shipped to the Milldale course direct from the Crescent City. Track superintendent Charles Nolte stated that he had reservations for Sunny Lassie, which is expected here to fill her engagements in the Latonia Oaks. The Middleburg Stable representative will be among the twelve that L. Campion is bringing here after the close of Washington Park. Her impressive performance in the Jackson Park Purse at Washington Park, in which she was second to Pittsburgher and bested Sweep All, gained her many new local admirers. The horses John Walters has quartered here for George M. Hendrie, Canadian sportsman, are Sunny Pal, Chokoloskee, Silvery, Gallardi, Squall, Rock Flower, Blighter, Chipola, Storm Wind, Southmere and Piece Meal. Chipola, Storm Wind, South-mere and Piece Meal are two-year-olds and were broken at the Walters farm near Lexington. Trainer Walters is well pleased with the way Chipola and Storm Wind are progressing in their training and unless something unforeseen happens they will fill their engagements in the Cincinnati Trophy. H. Golden has two two-year-olds at the track the names of which have not been granted. One is a daughter of Grayling, while the other is a bay colt by Angon.
