i h J h d d , h h h d h PLATER GUILFORD DROPS DEAD TORONTO, Ont., June 6.— Guilford, a plater, racing for John Bosley, Jr., dropped dead in the closing race on Fridays pro- gram. Guilford appeared in good shape when at the post and showed becoming speed in the run to the first turn. It was after passing the five and one-half furlongs post that he began dropping back and for a time it appeared af if he had been cut down. While nearing the far turn he collaped with jockey Madeley, the latter suffered a shak- ing up, but was none the worse for his ex- perience and accepted mounts on Saturday. The cause of Guilfords demise was ascribed as heart failure.
