! LEXINGTON TURF NOTES $ _ — 4 LEXINGTON, Ky., June 6. George J. Mandel of Oil City, Pa., today bought from L. K. Haggin, thetwo-y ear-old bay gelding Vesee, by Gnome — Swift Water. He will continue to be trained by L. K. Rogers, who will take him to Latonia, where he has an engagement in the Cincinnati Trophy. Vesee is one of the best two-year-olds at the Lexington track at the present time, and is promising. Col. W. S. Dudley today stated that on the advice of T. P. Hayes he has withdrawn the price of 0,000, which he placed on Ray Blades a few days ago. "Mr. Hayes phoned me last night that Ray Blades had come out of his race in fine shape," said Colonel Dudley, "and we have decided he will not be sold for a time at least. He has a lot of stake engagements, and he looks like he will win some of them." Joe F. Patterson has returned from Belmont Park, where he sold several horses in training last Saturday. ♦
