I J r 1 I • • I l ■ I I , NEW STABLES FOR LATONIA Two New Barns Ordered Constructed in Time for Milldale Meeting Opening June 27. HOMEWOOD, 111., June 6.— Two stables, with a capacity of thirty-six stalls each, today were ordered constructed at Latonia in time for use during the summer meeting of thirty-one days, opening on Saturday, June 27. Demand for stable accommodations for the meeting has been such that Colonel Winn, executive director of the Latonia Jockey Club, was forced to increase the stall capacity so as to provide quarters for practically all of the numerous fashionable stables going to the Kentucky track. The new barns will be ready for occupancy in about ten days and will be completely equipped and modern in every respect. From the list of requests for stalls, the Latonia meeting is attracting a greater number of leading stables of the East, West and Canada than in several years, and if racing material counts, the meeting should prove remarkable for the sport in store for patrons of the track. About 1,200 horses were included in the stables having reservations for the meeting. Maurice Galvin, vice-president of the Latonia Jockey Club, returned to his home at Covington tonight. He spent two days going over plans for the meeting with Colonel Winn. »
