NAE BREEKS, under restraint until leaving the back stretch, took the lead on the far turn, increased his lead thereafter and was only galloping at the end. TEWSENELDA, away fast, was unable to keep pace with the winder, but easily held NAUGHTY NAUGHTY safe. The latter showed improved speed after trailing for the first quarter, saved ground on the stretch turn and finished fast. GOOD SHEPHERD raced well. HAZEL GUMBERTS. sore going to the post, was never able to reach serious contention under pressure. PROMITKR was neer prominent. THE DOCTOR, under reserve until reaching the stretch, wore down COLONEL DRAGE. continued gamely and just failed to last. BAGPIPER saved ground In the stretch and finished gamely. COLONEL DRAGE set a fat pace, but tired in the last eighth. BRAVE KNIGHT began fast, but dropped out of it soon afterwards. SCOTLAND made up ground after starting slowlv. BUSINESS was awav poorly. AYMOND. showing a decided liking for the going, outran his field to the first turn, continued to set the pace while under a stout pull, went into a long lead rounding out of the back stretch and was eased up all the last eighth. PAT GAIETY moved up stoutly in the last three eighths, but barely held on long enough to save second place from the fast going GAY PARISIAN. The latter finished stoutly through the stretch. TAR EXCELLENCE went well for the first three quarters, tiring thereafter. STAR CREST attended the winner closest for the first three-quarters in going that he does not fancy, he dropped back badly in the last three eighths.
