ZAIDEE, steadied along closest to VACILLATE, responded willingly in the last quarter, wore down the pacemaker, took command thereafter and moved clear under pressure. VACILLATE, a fast beginner, drew clear in the first five-eighths, saved ground, but tired fast in the last eighth. ELLA RUFUS began fast, but dropped out of it after the first eighth and, placed to punishment, passed tiring horses at the end. LEW BLACK tired. GALOPIN DIAMOND went into a short lead, shook off WEE TODDLER II. after three-quarters and. kept under urging, held sway to the end. WEE TODDLER II. followed the winner closely for three quarters, but was held safe thereafter. NIPIGON, under early restraint, finished gamely when put to a drive. The latter, bumped slightly goin» to the first turn, was under restraint while following BAD NEWS BOB, shook the latter off entering the stretch, was unable to get clear, but fought it out gamely. SIGNOLA, a slow beginner, closed a big gap. FLASHING GEM tired when the final drive came. IKE MANN was unable to menace the leaders. JUNE MOON, outrun early, improved her position on the outside, closed gamely, but could not menace the winner. HIGH PLAYER challenged gamely approaching the stretch and finished with good courage. BARBER JOHN, close up early, tired when put to a drive. TALL GRASS dropped far back early and was never a factor thereafter. MY NO met with no mishaps. Scratched— 60287Eli/abeth, 104.
