LINE OF FIRE, away forwardly but restrained early, improved his position while racing wide entering the stretch and, disposing of MY PURCHASE under vigorous handling, held RABBLE safe at the end. RABBLE, away forwardly, but crowded back in the first eighth by MY PURCHASE, saved ground thereafter, but could not overhaul the winner. MY PURCHASE, rushed into the lead, set a fast early pace for half a mile, bore out in the stretch, then tired in the closing eighth. ON LEAVE, away slowly, closed a big gap while weaving between the leaders. INCESSANT raced forwardly early, then tired in the stretch. EL PUMA closed a big gap in the closing throe-eiehths. LUCILLE K. moved up with a rush on the inside of the leaders in the last eighth, was gaining slowly in the final strides, but was unable to get up. OKAPI, racing straight all the way, outlasted MEANY. The latter showed good speed, but raced green in the final eighth. MAEANTIC Taced on the inside and had no mishaps. SHAVINGS closed resolutely. TEA CRACKER, prominent all the way, challenged gamely in the stretch, but was not good enough. DRUGGIST, also fractious at the barrier, began from outside the machine, gradually improved his position and wore down the tiring MANASSAS in the final strides. The latter rushed clear of the others in the first eighth, saved ground, but tired. LION HEARTED raced evenly. BLUE CLOUD, away slowly, closed a big gap. HELIANTHUS, hard urged, took a short lead in the early stages and set a fast pace, then tired in the stretch. ULUNIU met interference on the turn out of the back stretch, came through on the inside in the closing three-eighths and closed gamely under pressure. MARTIS, hard ridden throughout, finished gamely. JUDGE SCHILLING, close up for half a mile, tired entering" the stretch. BROWN WISDOM, close up for half a mile, was taken wide and Finished on his own courage. REPENTANCE, in close quarters on the inside for the first half mile, followed the pace under restraint until midway around the far turn, where he came through between the leaders and, racing VANDER POOL! into defeat, drew out in the final eighth and won in hand. LIGHTNING BOLT gradually improved his posl tion to the stretch turn, where he was pinched back slightly when trying to come through on the inside,-but went around the leaders in the stretch and finished gamely. VANDER POOL began fast and set a rapid early pace and, responding gamely when challenged, tired in the stretch. FLYING HEELS tired after being close up for three-quarters. TUB ALA closed resolutely. DON LEON and LADY BROADCAST were outrun. BAY ANGON, saving ground early, improved his position, but was forced to pull up when REGULA BADDUN quit in front of him at the eighth post, then came again. ON SIR worked his way up slowly on the outside on the turn and finished with a rush. REGULA BADDUN raced COMMON into defeat in the first three-, eighths and set a rapid pace to the last eighth, then quit badly. PLAYFOLE began off stride and was in. close quarters around the turn.
