GRAND PRINCE began fast, was forced back when up close approaching the turn and, going to the outside entering the stretch, responded to brisk pressure, wore down MY SWEETS and won drawing out. The latter, improved, showed good speed from the start, raced AUNT DEB into defeat and held on well, but was not good enough. HIPPIAS raced wide throughout nd closed resolutely under urging. JEANNE WACHS moved up entering the stretch and held on well despite lack of room in the drive. KING CHEROKEE tired. AUNT DEB showed speed under vigorous urging and quit badly in the last eighth. The latter, under strong restraint for half a mile, raced resolutely under strong handling, but could not get up. FLORENCE DOLAN was a factor from the start, but no match for the winner. ST. JIM was best of the others. ED REESE had no mishaps. GLEN LAD lost ground and was racing well in the final stages. JOAN PAT was outrun. BERTJOHN, in close quarters on the first turn, moved up boldly on the stretch turn and continued well. COLONIAL BELLE raced well. CRYSTAL PRINCE lost ground. PEACE LADY showed a good performance and, but for the slipping of her saddle, might have been a stronger factor. GOLD BET bore out badly entering the stretch. ALAMAE quit. TEWSENELDA began fast, but labored badly in the going and, dropping out of it, was eased up. BILL ORANGE showed a dull performance. .
