TfAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES t s Hal Price Headley stopped off for the afternoon en route to his Beaumont farm, Lexington, from Louis Haggins hunting lodge in Mississippi. Mr. Headley has a small division of his stable at the Fair Grounds and at Beaumont will prepare about thirty horses for racing the coming season. His Indian Runner. is a candidate for the Kentucky Derby. Simultaneous with the closing of nominations for the 0,000 added Louisiana Derby Saturday, racing secretary Joseph McLennan will close subscriptions to the ,000 added Rex Handicap, also for three-year-olds. This latter stake will be run at three-quarters on Saturday, February 6, while the Louisiana Derby is reserved for March 19, closing day of the meeting. John Daniels, trainer of the Southland Stable, who was taken ill yesterday, was able to venture outdoors today. Bob Paxton, sports editor of the Cincinnati Enquirer and John Early, retired merchant, are expected here Sunday from Cincinnati. John Oliver Keene, owner of Keeneland Stud, returned from Miami. He was accompanied by Judd Alt, who is making the engagements of M. Lewis. Stewards Campbell and FitzGerald today denied S. L. Van Blaroom the privileges of the track. He was accused of . filing a -false badge list and registering horses that are not here and have not been here this winter. Lotta and Donnells Edith Mildred and" Moms Polly have been taken over by Rhodes Donnell to train. H. Cavanaugh formerly trained the pair.
