y,. t FAIR GROUNDS BACK TO j THE MURIELS A NEW ORLEANS, La., Jan. 27. After two days trial the one dollar mutuels or certificates, introduced at the Fair Grounds for the first time this winter, were found altogether unsatisfactory and today were discontinued in favor of two dollar minimum tickets as formerly. Following a meeting of the board of directors, board of governors and executive committee, during which officers were in communication with Col. E. R. Bradley, principal stockholder, at Palm Beach, John P. Sullivan, chairman of the directorate, issued the following statement: "The Louisiana Jockey Club instituted the mutuels throughout the Fair Grounds, because it was believed it would win the approval of our patrons. "Such has not been the result. "Therefore, beginning Wednesday, January 27, Fair Grounds will return to the mutuels, reserving the mutuels and daily double for the field stand exclusively."
