LONESOME GLORY, quick to get going and always under urging, overtook FAIR IMAGE seventy yards out, but was unable to draw away and just lasted. REGREN, never far back, was forced to lose some ground and closed fastest of all. FAIR IMAGE met slight interference in the first eighth, showed speed and tired after taking the lead. MOMS POLLY began fast, but dropped out of it on the turn and, responding strongly when straightened out in the stretch, was going fastest of all in the final stages. MODERN ACE raced well. ELKHART, forced to race wide, moved up with a rush in the stretch, then tired. TONIGHT showed speed, bore out on the turn and held on well to the final seventy yards. CLOIDO lost much ground early, saved some on the stretch turn and appeared to sulk in the last eighth. CHILHOMA closed fast. COUSIN JUDY tired. TEXAS KNIGHT, much the best and taken into the lead on the inside, drew clear before going a quarter and, under restraint on the turn, responded to mild pressure in the stretch and drew away, winning under restraint. SANDWRACK, away fast and always close up, swerved badly when punished entering the stretch and, holding on well after going to the inside, outlasted SIMPLE SINGER. The latter, under strong restraint for three-eighths, moved up menacingly on the outside in the stretch, but tired in the last sixteenth. THE WHIG raced wide. DOLLAR PRINCESS had no mishaps.
