STEPHANITE DESTROYED NEW ORLEANS, La., Jan. 27. Stephan-ite, which started under Edward Haughtons colors in the seventh race at the Fair Grounds Monday, suffered a fracture of the rear shoulder in addition to rupturing tendons in the same leg, and had to be destroyed. Mrs. S. Orr had in a claim for the five-year-old and lost the ,000 involved and the horse as well. Haughton had the horse insured for ,500. but the claim cancelled the policy.
