JOCKEY F. DAINTY KILLED Suffers Fatal Injuries in Automobile Accident Sunday Morning at Belleville, Ontario. TORONTO, Ont., Feb. 1 Turf followers learned with deep regret of the death Sunday morning in an automobile accident, of jockey Francis "Buddy" Dainty, near Belleville, Ont., about one hundred miles east of Toronto. Dainty was riding in a car driven by J. Hare, and when the machine failed to negotiate a turn and crashed into a telephone pole, both occupants of the car sustained injuries that necessitated their removal to the Belleville Hospital by George Hardy, of Consecon, the riders contract employer, and to whose home they were driving when the accident occurred and whose car was following behind. While the driver of the car escaped with severe cuts and bruises, Dainty was so badly injured internally that he expired five minutes after reaching the hospital, and while being examined by Dr. R. S. Gibson. A native of Toronto, and in his twenty-third year, Dainty began his riding career at Kenney Park, in Florida, in the winter of 1929. Later he was under contract to the J. J. Barnes Stable and then became first string rider for Mr. Hardys Harbor Stable. Dainty was a consistent winner on Ontario tracks.
