FAIR IMAGE, on the outside at the post, was far out in the track all the way. BRIGHT KNOT, never far back, saved ground on the turns, but went to the outside near the stretch and finished resolutely. LADY COUVIN began slowly and camo .through on the inside in the stretch. PREMEDITATE showed speed under a hustling ride, but tired badly. NELL KUHLMAN began slowly. DOLLYS BABY showed early speed. LA COMPERE was done early. RED VEST showed speed for half a mile. STOP GAP, much the best and well ridden, was steadied along until reaching the final three-eighths, -where he disposed of SUN THORN and held MASTER OGDEN safe. The latter, forced to race wide, was a strong factor from the start. VANQUISH moved up with a rush after half a mile. SUN THORN showed good speed while setting the pace, but tired in tha stretch. PLAY BIRD could not get up. OLD BILL quit. HERENDEEN began slowly and had no mishaps. ESSARE. timidly ridden, was always far back. CHIMNEY SWEEP could not overtake the winner, but held on well. MINE SWEEPER made up ground in the final quarter. FIDDLER raced wide, but had no mishaps. NYACK failed to respond to urging. JEANNE WACHS forced her way through on the inside in the run to the first turn, was well rated and, holding on well, just failed to last. REVERBERATE, under strong reserve for five-eighths, moved up boldly on the extreme outside entering the stretch, but weakened badly in the last eighth. BIDE A WEE, under vigorous riding after a half mile, failed to improve her position. MISS ONINE quit. LADY MARSCH had no mishaps. SIS ESTHER was badly outrun.
